Betty Knox: Legend and Park

The tale of Betty Knox and her ox is one of the most endearing and enduring legends from the Dunbar area.  This song from COED Productions Music captures the heart of the Dunbar Mountains and gives a slightly different take on the legend.  Special thanks to Daniel Cocks for allowing us to share his song.

Not only was a park and a road named after her, but Betty was commemorated by the William G. Pomeroy Foundation with a Legends and Lore marker in 2025.  Click here for more information about the marker.
